Made it to the Verdent Soil of London, and by that I mean the cobble stones.

I have made it to my hotel room, and it was easier then I imagined it would be. I took the Gatwick express from the Airport to Victoria station. While I was on the train, a lovely British person sat next to me and we chatted for the half hour it took for me to get to Victoria Station. She wrote down places I should check out and was generally a lovely person. She laughed at my luggage though. I bought this maple leaf Canada day luggage from Army and Navy a couple of years ago. Its a cheap set of luggage, and the handles get stuck, but it is easy to spot in an airport. She laughed and said "I am trying to guess which luggage is yours..."

I told her there are no prizes for that one and we laughed.

The service people at the tube stations were very lovely and helpful, and I found getting to Earl's Court station was easier then getting to West Edmonton Mall on a good day. The original plan was to take a taxi from Earl's Court, but I think the driver would have laughed at me. The Hotel I am staying at is literally one street down from the station and is lovely. Its small, but I can smell the cleaner. The lounge downstairs is like something out of a Caribbean movie, it has lots of dark leather chairs on posh wooden floors. The ceiling fan looks ancient and there are palm trees in the corners. The gentleman at the desk tells me the rioting is mostly in East London and not really in the "touristy" parts. He also told me how the police force have tripled in the last few days, and even citizens are coming to clean up the streets of London. Its quite inspiring.

No pictures for now as I unfortunately fell asleep once I got here and its getting dark. Police are out patrolling the streets and well I don't think its highly appropriate for me to be pulling tourist idiocy at such a time. But tomorrow I promise to get lots of pictures of the street and the train stations. London is a gorgeous city.

I plan on being back in the Hotel before nightfall every night, and really I am not all that interested in the Bar scene. I figure with the riots going on its probably better this way. All right I am off to bed. You all take care, and to the roommate officially dubbed she-who-feeds-the-cats thank you for taking care of my rotten kitties. And watch out for the black one, she likes to make people shit themselves.
